Plant Human Resources Manager – Ohio

 

This position is primarily responsible for providing HR support for three (3) manufacturing facilities. 

 

Duties Include guiding plant initiatives to ensure alignment with corporate Human Resources missions and objectives including policy interpretation, compensation, benefits, career counseling, and performance management and investigating and resolving associate issues.

 

Process improvement and implementing systems across business units including the development of new policies, programs and training, wage & benefit surveys, research & benchmarking HR practices, annual compensation review, affirmative action programs, continuous improvement projects, plant-wide communication and roundtables.

 

Also responsible for the sourcing, recruitment and selection of select salaried positions.  This includes counseling with managers on the hiring process, writing job postings, placing ads, screening/ interviewing, making recommendations to managers and preparing salary offers.  Works closely with the Growing Media locations to create effective plans to generate adequate and diverse applicant pools.

 

Assists in the development of strategic Human Resource plans to support manufacturing business objectives in conjunction with the Human Resource Director and the respective Operations Directors.

 

bullet Bachelor degree in Human Resources or a related field, Masters degree in Labor & Industrial Relations, Organizational Development or Business preferred.
bullet 5-12 years generalist and/or specialist experience with increasing responsibilities out of a manufacturing environment.
bullet Proven experience in leading change and implementing new ideas and concepts.
bullet Extensive experience handling a variety of employee relations issues in a fair and consistent manner.
bullet Knowledge of and experience leading succession planning and associate development planning tied to current and anticipated organizational needs.
bullet Knowledge of labor laws and current legal trends.
bullet Operating knowledge of performance management and compensation systems and strategies.
bullet Demonstrated ability to establish self as business partner with internal customers to develop and influence HR strategic initiatives.
bullet Ability to evaluate organizational effectiveness and to develop and implement organizational change solutions.
bullet Responsive, high quality customer service orientation.
